Power Rear Gate Auto Closer: Inspection: Actuator
- Check motor operation
- Check the motor operation when battery voltage is applied between the terminals of motor.
Terminal No. Inspection conditions Specification 4 (+) - 1 (-) Apply battery voltage. CLOSE rotation 1 (+) - 4 (-) Apply battery voltage. OPEN rotation - After the motor operation check is completed, perform initialization of the sector switch in the following procedures.
- Operate the motor in the OPEN direction for approximately 2 seconds.
- Connect the connector of power rear gate auto closer.
- Connect the ground terminal to the battery sensor with the rear gate fully open.
- Check the motor operation when battery voltage is applied between the terminals of motor.
- Check switch
- Check the resistance between switch terminals.
- Latch switch
Terminal No. Inspection conditions Standard 3 - 7 OPEN Less than 1 Ω HALF 10 kΩ or more FULL 10 kΩ or more OVER 10 kΩ or more - Courtesy switch
Terminal No. Inspection conditions Standard 7 - 8 OPEN Less than 1 Ω HALF Less than 1 Ω FULL 10 kΩ or more - Ratchet switch
Terminal No. Inspection conditions Standard 2 - 7 OPEN Less than 1 Ω HALF 10 kΩ or more FULL 10 kΩ or more OVER Less than 1 Ω - Sector switch
Perform the check while operating the motor in the OPEN direction with the battery voltage applied between the terminals of motor.
Terminal No. Inspection conditions Standard 6 - 7 Switch ON (OPEN) Less than 1 Ω Switch OFF (NORMAL) 10 kΩ or more - After the switch check is completed, perform initialization of the sector switch in the following procedures.
- Operate the motor in the OPEN direction for approximately 2 seconds.
- Connect the connector of power rear gate auto closer.
- Connect the ground terminal to the battery sensor with the rear gate fully open.
- Check the resistance between switch terminals.
- Replace the power rear gate auto closer if it is found defective.
