Ignition Switch Illumination: Inspection

  1. CHECK IGNITION SWITCH ILLUMINATION  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Check the lighting condition of the ignition switch illumination.

      Does the ignition switch illumination blink?

      Yes  : Check the function setting of body integrated unit. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>REGISTRATION BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .

      No  : Go to  2 .

  2. CHECK IGNITION SWITCH ILLUMINATION OPERATION  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Open and close the driver's side door.

      When door is opened/closed, does the ignition switch illumination switch between ON ←→ OFF?

      Yes  : Ignition switch illumination is normal.

      No  : Go to  3 .

  3. CHECK CURRENT DATA  .

    Display the [Driver's door SW input] data using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

    Does the display change to [ON] → [OFF], when the door is opened/closed?

    Yes  : Go to  4 .

    No  : Check the door switch circuit. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM>INSPECTION>CHECK DOOR SWITCH .

  4. CHECK CURRENT DATA  .

    Display the [key illumination lamp o/p] data using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

    Does the display change to [ON] → [OFF], when the door is opened/closed?

    Yes  : Check the ignition switch illumination circuit, and repair or replace the harness.

    No  : Check the body integrated unit and replace it if defective. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
