DTC B2D04: Front Camera Wiring Harness Open Circuit Or Trouble (Image)

DTC detecting condition: 

The image line of the front view monitor camera is open, or the front view monitor camera is faulty.

Trouble symptom: 

The front view monitor camera image is not displayed.

1. CHECK DTC  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   2. Read the DTC of [Multi View Monitor] using the Subaru Select Monitor Ref. to MULTI VIEW MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

      Is DTC B2D04 displayed? (Current malfunction)

      Yes  : Go to  2 .

      No  : Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

      NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
2. CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
   2. Disconnect the front view monitor camera connector.
   3. Disconnect the camera control module connector Ref. to EYESIGHT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
   4. Measure the resistance between the front view monitor camera connector and the camera control module connector.

      Connector and terminal 

      (B79) No. 12 - (B105) No. 3:

      (B79) No. 32 - (B105) No. 2:

      Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

      Yes  : Go to  3 .

      No  : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

3. CHECK HARNESS (GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT)  .

   Measure the resistance between camera control module connector and chassis ground.

   Connector and terminal 

   (B79) No. 12 - Chassis ground

   (B79) No. 32 - Chassis ground

   Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

   Yes  : Go to  4 .

   No  : Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.

4. CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY)  .

   Measure the voltage between camera control module connector and chassis ground.

   Connector and terminal 

   (B79) No. 12 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

   (B79) No. 32 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

   Is the voltage less than 1 V?

   Yes  : Go to  5 .

   No  : Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.

5. CHECK DTC  .
   1. Replace the front view monitor camera Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>CAMERA .
   2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   3. Read the DTC of [Multi View Monitor] using the Subaru Select Monitor Ref. to MULTI VIEW MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

      Is DTC B2D04 displayed? (Current malfunction)

      Yes  : Replace the camera control module. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>CONTROL UNIT .

      No  : Malfunction occurred in the front view monitor camera.
