Vacuum Pump: Removal
NOTE:
When replacing a single part, perform the work with the engine assembly installed to body.
- When working on the vehicleNOTE: When working on the vehicle, perform the following steps also.
- Remove the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.
- Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the vacuum pump.NOTE: Before disconnecting the brake booster vacuum hose, use a marker to put an alignment mark (a) at the position shown in the figure when the clip is slid.
- Remove the Cross Member support rear RH. Ref. to FRONT SUSPENSION>CROSS MEMBER SUPPORT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the union bolts (A) securing the oil pipe.
- Remove the vacuum pump.NOTE: The vacuum pump cannot be disassembled.
- Remove liquid gasket from the vacuum pump mounting surface of the engine, and the surface of the vacuum pump.
