DTC B2608: Seat SW Failure
DTC detecting condition:
When the seat switch input is detected as ON on both directions.
Trouble symptom:
Seat operation stops immediately in manual operation.
Wiring diagram:
Power seat system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>POWER SEAT SYSTEM>WIPING DIAGRAM .
- CHECK DTC
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Read the DTC of [Power Seat Memory] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC 2608 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes: Go to 2 .
No: Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time.
Reproduce the failure, and perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. - CHECK POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE
.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Power Seat Memory]. Ref. to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
- Slide SW
- Reclining SW
- Lifter SW
- Tilt SW
Is [Abnormal] displayed in any of the switch statuses?
Yes: Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .
No: Go to 3 .
- CHECK DTC
.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Power Seat Memory]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module connector and reconnect it.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Move each axis using the power seat manual switch.
- Read the DTC of [Power Seat Memory] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2608 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes: Go to 4 .
No: Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time.
Reproduce the failure, and perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. - CHECK HARNESS (GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT)
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module connector.
- Disconnect motor connectors.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module connector and chassis ground.
Connector and terminal
(R504) No. 22 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?
Yes: Go to 5 .
No: Repair or replace the short circuit to ground in harness between Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module connector and motor connector.
- CHECK SLIDE SWITCH
.
- Disconnect the connector of power seat switch assembly.
- Check the power seat switch assembly. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 6 .
No: Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .
- CHECK HARNESS (SLIDE)
.
- Disconnect the power seat switch connector and slide motor connector.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between power seat switch connector and Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module connector.
Connector and terminal
(R504) No. 7 - (R200) No. 5: (slide forward)
(R504) No. 18 - (R200) No. 6: (slide rearward)
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes: Go to 7 .
No: Check power seat harness.
- CHECK TILT SWITCH
.
- Disconnect the connector of power seat switch assembly.
- Check the power seat switch assembly. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 8 .
No: Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .
- CHECK HARNESS (TILT)
.
- Disconnect the power seat switch connector and tilt motor connector.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between power seat switch connector and {Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module} connector.
Connector and terminal
(R504) No. 8 - (R200) No. 14: (tilt up)
(R504) No. 19 - (R200) No. 15: (tilt down)
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes: Go to 9 .
No: Check power seat harness.
- CHECK LIFTER SWITCH
.
- Disconnect the connector of power seat switch assembly.
- Check the power seat switch assembly. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 10 .
No: Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .
- CHECK HARNESS (LIFTER)
.
- Disconnect the power seat switch connector and lifter motor connector.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between power seat switch connector and Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module connector.
Connector and terminal
(R504) No. 10 - (R200) No. 7: (lifter up)
(R504) No. 21 - (R200) No. 4: (lifter down)
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes: Go to 11 .
No: Check power seat harness.
- CHECK RECLINING SWITCH
.
- Disconnect the connector of power seat switch assembly.
- Check the power seat switch assembly. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 12 .
No: Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .
- CHECK HARNESS (RECLINING)
.
- Disconnect the power seat switch connector and reclining motor connector.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between power seat switch connector and Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module connector.
Connector and terminal
(R504) No. 9 - (R200) No. 3: (reclining forward)
(R504) No. 20 - (R200) No. 8: (reclining rearward)
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes: Replace Power Seat and Remote Control Mirror control module. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .
No: Check power seat harness.
