Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill fuel.
NOTE:
For the removal procedure of fuel filler lid, refer to "Fuel filler lid". Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>REMOTE OPENERS>REMOVAL>FUEL LID>HYBRID MODEL
.
- Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Drain fuel. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>FUEL>PROCEDURE>DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) .
- Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
- Turn the fuel filler pipe protector in the direction of the arrow to release the lock (A) and remove it.
- Remove the rear sub frame assembly. Ref. to REAR SUSPENSION>SUB FRAME>REMOVAL .
- Remove the mud guard - rear RH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>MUD GUARD>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A) from the fuel filler pipe assembly.
- Disconnect the circulate tube assembly (B) from the fuel filler pipe assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE F) .
- Remove the bolts which secure the fuel filler pipe assembly.
- Remove the nuts which secure the fuel filler pipe assembly, and remove the fuel filler pipe assembly from underneath of the vehicle.
