CROSSTREK Model

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver OUT. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the mud guard - front LH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>MUD GUARD>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the opener handle.
    1. Remove the cable assembly - front hood.
    2. Remove the bolt, and remove the opener handle.

  5. Remove the cable - front hood.
    1. Remove the cable - front hood from the lock assembly - front hood, and then attach a string to the end of the cable - front hood.

      NOTE: A string makes operation easier during installation.
    2. Remove the cable clip, and remove the cable - front hood.

    3. Remove the attached string from the end of the cable - front hood.
      NOTE: Leave the string attached to the body, and use it during installation.
