INTRODUCTION
This Service Information Bulletin provides an updated caster specification for the 2019-2021MY Ascent. All production vehicles have been assembled using the correct caster specification supplied below. Applicable Service Manuals will be updated with the correct information.
SERVICE PROCEDURE/INFORMATION
REMINDER : Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
The current Service Manual INCORRECTLY lists the specification for caster as 4° 13' (4 degrees, 13 minutes).
THE CORRECT CASTER SPECIFICATION FOR ASCENT IS: 3° 31' (3 DEGREES, 31 MINUTES).
The rest of the specifications and wheel alignment procedures remain unchanged. Caster is NOT adjustable as it permanently set during production. Always refer to the applicable Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair being performed. The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time, every time. This includes but is not limited to important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria, necessary special tools, required processes and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and lasting repair.
