Oil Pan Upper

  1. Remove the engine assembly. Ref. to MECHANICAL (H4DOTC)>Engine Assembly>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the water pipe RH. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>Water Pipe>REMOVAL>WATER PIPE RH .
  3. Remove the water pipe LH. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>Water Pipe>REMOVAL>WATER PIPE LH .
  4. Remove the oil pan and oil strainer. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DOTC)>Oil Pan>REMOVAL>OIL PAN .
  5. Remove the oil pan upper from the cylinder block.
    NOTE: Pry the points shown in the figure with a crowbar wrapped by protective tape, and then remove the oil pan upper.

  6. Remove the O-ring from the cylinder block.

  7. Remove the liquid gasket from oil pan upper and cylinder block.
