DTC P24D6: EVAP System Pressure Sensor/Switch "B" Circuit Range/Performance: Notes

1. - DTC detecting condition:

Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.

NOTE: After the faulty parts are repaired or replaced, perform the final check in Basic Diagnostic Procedure. Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DOTC)>Basic Diagnostic Procedure>PROCEDURE .
  1. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor or a general scan tool, read the DTC of [Engine]. Ref. to COMMON (diag)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

Is DTC other than P24D6 displayed? (Current malfunction)

Yes  : Check the appropriate DTC using the "Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DOTC)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .

      No  : Go to  2.

  2. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF).
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the values of [Evap System Vapor Pressure] and [Purge Line Pressure] to compare with actual atmospheric pressure.
NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Common (Diagnostics)". Ref. to COMMON (diag)>DATA MONITOR .

Is the difference with the actual atmospheric pressure 4.8 kPa (36 mmHg, 1.4 inHg) or more?

Yes  : Replace the part that showed larger deviation from the actual atmospheric pressure than the other.

      • If deviations in value for [Evap System Vapor Pressure] is larger: Replace the leak check valve assembly. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DOTC)>LEAK CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY .
      • If deviations in value for [Purge Line Pressure] is larger: Replace the CPC pressure sensor. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DOTC)>CPC PRESSURE SENSOR .

No  : Even if DTC is detected, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
