DTC C2549: Assist Map Selection

DTC detecting condition: 

• When CAN communication error is received after the ignition switch is ON.
• When the vehicle CAN information cannot be received after the ignition switch is ON.

Trouble symptom: 

The steering wheel operation feels heavy.

1. CHECK POOR CONTACT OF CONNECTORS. 

   Is there any poor contact in the connector of combination meter, body integrated unit or engine control module?

   Yes:  Repair the poor contact of connector.

   No:  Go to  2.

2. CHECK DTC. 

   Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read all DTCs.

   Are there any DTCs detected for combination meter, body integrated unit or engine control module as well as DTC C2532?

   Yes:  Perform the diagnosis according to the DTC.

   No:  Go to  3.

3. CHECK LAN SYSTEM. 

   Perform the diagnosis for LAN system using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

   Is a DTC related to CAN communication detected?

   Yes:  Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

   No:  Go to  4.

4. CHECK POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. 
   1. Connect all connectors.
   2. Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING) (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY MODE .
   3. Perform the Inspection Mode. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING) (DIAGNOSTICS)>INSPECTION MODE .
   4. Read the DTC.

      Is DTC C2549 detected?

      Yes:  Replace the steering gearbox. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>ELECTRIC POWER STEERING GEARBOX .

      No:  It results from a temporary noise interference.
