Water Pipe LH

  1. Install the preheater hose to the throttle body.

  2. Temporarily install the water pipe LH with a new O-ring.
  3. Tighten the bolts in the numerical order as shown in the figure.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  4. Lower the engine and remove the lifting device and wire ropes.
  5. Remove the ST1 and ST2 from the engine unit.

  6. Install the nuts which hold the engine mounting to the crossmember COMPL front.
    CAUTION:

    Be sure to use a new nut. 

    NOTE:

    Make sure that locators (a) of the engine mounting are securely inserted. 

    Tightening torque: 

    90 N.m (9.2 kgf-m, 66.4 ft-lb)

  7. Remove the ST from between the vehicle and the rear crossmember. (CVT model)
    1. Set the transmission jack to the transmission body.
      NOTE:

      Be careful that the support plate of transmission jack does not touch the transmission oil pan. 

    2. Remove the ST from between the vehicle and the rear crossmember.

    3. Operate the transmission jack to adjust the transmission body height, and install the bolts securing the rear crossmember to the vehicle.

      Tightening torque: 

      70 N.m (7.1 kgf-m, 51.6 ft-lb)

    4. Install the center exhaust cover.

      Tightening torque: 

      18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)

    5. Remove the transmission jack.
  8. Connect the connector to the water pipe LH, and connect the water hose.

  9. Install the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the pitching stopper.

    CVT model: 

    Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>INSTALLATION>PITCHING STOPPER .

    MT model: 

    Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL (TY75)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>INSTALLATION>PITCHING STOPPER .

  11. Connect the preheater hose (A) and the hose heater outlet (B) to the water pipe LH.

  12. Install the intercooler. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTERCOOLER>INSTALLATION .
  13. Install the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>AIR INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION .
  14. Install the V-belt cover.
    NOTE:
    • Check the grommet for peel-off or disengagement. 
    • Be careful not to deform the bracket during installation. 

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  15. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  16. Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  17. Set the panel COMPL front hood to the normal position. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>FRONT HOOD GAS STAY .
  18. Install the striker assembly front hood. Ref. to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>FRONT HOOD>ASSEMBLY .
