Rear Lateral Link (front): Installation
CAUTION:
- For parts which are not reusable, always use new parts.
- Always tighten the bushing in the state where the vehicle is at curb weight and the wheels are in full contact with the ground.
- Check if the collar is protruding from the rear axle housing.
- If the collar comes off from the rear axle housing, replace the rear axle housing with a new part.
- Before installation, inspect the following items and replace any faulty part with a new one.
- Visually check the rear lateral link assembly front for damage and deformation.
- Visually check the bushing for abnormal cracks, fatigue or damage.
- Visually check the boot on the ball joint for abnormal cracks, fatigue or damage.
- Install the rear lateral link assembly front.CAUTION:
- When installing the adjusting bolt (g), make sure to fix the bolt side in place and tighten the nut side (f).
- Align alignment marks (h) on the adjusting bolt for the rear lateral link assembly front and on the sub frame.
Tightening torque:
Refer to "COMPONENT" of "General Description" for the tightening torque. Refer to REAR SUSPENSION>General Description>COMPONENT>REAR SUSPENSION .
- Install the trailing link assembly rear.
Tightening torque:
Nut side: 90 N.m (9.2 kgf-m, 66.4 ft-lb)
- Install the adapter cord EPB.
Tightening torque:
18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)
- Install the rear wheels and lower the vehicle.
Tightening torque:
120 N.m (12.2 kgf-m, 88.5 ft-lb)
- Inspect the wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
- Inspection: Refer to FRONT SUSPENSION>Wheel Alignment>INSPECTION .
- Adjustment: Refer to FRONT SUSPENSION>Wheel Alignment>ADJUSTMENT .
- Perform the following adjustments using Subaru Select Monitor.
- Lane keep assist learning value clear: Refer to EyeSight (DIAGNOSTICS)>Clear Active Lane Keep System Learning Value>OPERATION .
- VDC sensor midpoint setting mode: Refer to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U)>ADJUSTMENT .
