Steering Heater Switch

  1. Measure the resistance between connector terminals.

    Preparation tool: 

    Circuit tester

    Terminal No. Inspection conditions Standard
    4 - 5 Operate the switch and hold it. Less than 1 Ω
    Do not operate the switch. 1 MΩ or more
    2 - 6 Always Less than 1 Ω
  2. Apply battery voltage between the connector terminals to check lighting condition of illumination and indicator inside the switch.
    CAUTION: When applying battery voltage, do not mix up the positive (+) side and the negative (-) side.
    Incorrect polarity connection may cause LED damage inside the switch.
    Terminal No. Inspection conditions Specification
    3 (+) - 1 (-) Apply battery voltage Illumination (mark) turns on.
    4 (+) - 7 (-) Indicator turns on.
    3 (+) - 1 (-)
    4 (+) - 7 (-)
    Apply battery voltage simultaneously. Illumination (mark) and indicator turn on in dimmed condition at one level.
  3. Replace the steering heater switch if it is found defective.
