Section 4 (Engine Starting System & Charging System (2.4L)): Starter: Installation

CAUTION:
- When replacing the starter, be sure to perform [Start count clearing] after the service. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Work Support .
- When replacing the starter, be sure to replace the fuel pump relay at the same time. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>Fuel Pump Relay .
- When replacing the starter, be sure to replace the ICR relay at the same time. Refer to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DOTC)>Inrush Current Reduction Relay .
- Install the starter.
Tightening torque:
50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
- Connect the connector (C) and terminal (B).
Tightening torque:
11 N.m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.1 ft-lb)
- Connect the ground terminal (A).
Tightening torque:
14 N.m (1.4 kgf-m, 10.3 ft-lb)
- Install the nuts on the lower side of the starter.
Tightening torque:
50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
- Install the CVTF cooler pipe. (Model with CVTF cooler (air cool))
Tightening torque:
16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)
- Install the center exhaust pipe (rear). Refer to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>Center Exhaust Pipe>INSTALLATION>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE (REAR) .
- Install the intercooler. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>Intercooler>INSTALLATION .
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
