Air Cleaner Case: Installation

  1. Install the air cleaner case bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  2. Install the air cleaner case (front).
    NOTE: Insert the protrusion of the air cleaner case (front) into the cushion of the air cleaner case bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    6 N.m (0.6 kgf-m, 4.4 ft-lb)

  3. Set the air cleaner element and install the air cleaner case (rear).
    CAUTION:
    • Be sure to use SUBARU genuine air cleaner element suitable to the engine type. Otherwise the engine performance may decrease.
    • Install the air cleaner element so that the printed surface is on the upper side.
    NOTE:
    • If any foreign matter is found in the air cleaner case, clean it.
    • Install by aligning the claws located on the bottom of the air cleaner case.
  4. Connect the air intake boot.

    Tightening torque: 

    3 N.m (0.3 kgf-m, 2.2 ft-lb)

  5. Connect the connector to the mass air flow and intake air temperature sensor, and secure the harness with clip.
  6. Install the air intake duct. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>Air Intake Duct>INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
