User Recognition Fails
- Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Refer to DRIVER MONITORS (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- Perform the check list for personal recognition. Refer to DRIVER MONITORS (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>LIST>CHECK LIST FOR PERSONAL RECOGNITION .
- Check whether the registration method following the description in the OM is performed.
- If it is not possible to enter the customizing screen, perform the diagnosis for cockpit control module.
- Perform the procedure with the ignition switch ON.
- Remove accessories that cover your face.
- Perform registration according to the instructions on the center information display.
- When Driver Monitoring Unit is soiled with any dirt or fingerprint, wipe off with soft cloth or cloth wrung out of water.
- Check that Driver Monitoring System is not OFF, temporarily stopped, or abnormal.
- Check that the user information linkage of the cockpit control module is ON.
- CHECK DATA MONITOR
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Driver Monitor]. Refer to DRIVER MONITOR/DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
- DMS Recognition ON/OFF Status
Does the data indicate [Recognition ON]?
Yes : Go to 2.
No : Switch to ON and then perform registration.
- CHECK LAN SYSTEM
.
Perform the diagnosis for LAN system. Refer to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 3.
No : Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for LAN system.
- CHECK COCKPIT CONTROL MODULE
.
Perform the diagnosis for cockpit control system. Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>Basic Diagnostic Procedure>PROCEDURE .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 4.
No : Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for cockpit control system.
- CHECK COMBINATION METER
.
Perform the diagnosis for combination meter. Refer to BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 5.
No : Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for the combination meter.
- CHECK POWER SEAT/REMOTE MIRROR SYSTEM
.
Perform the diagnosis for the power seat/remote mirror system. Refer to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 6.
No : Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for the power seat/remote mirror system.
- CHECK USER RECOGNITION
.
Confirm that the seat was occupied within 30 seconds after the door was opened.
Was the seat occupied within 30 seconds?
Yes : Go to 9.
No : Open the door and sit on the seat within 30 seconds to perform the user recognition When the trouble occurs again. Go to 7.
- CHECK USER RECOGNITION
.
Check that the user was facing straight towards the front when sitting on the driver's seat.
Was the user facing straight towards the front of the driver's seat?
Yes : Go to 9.
No : Perform the user recognition with the user facing straight towards the front when sitting on the driver's seat.
When the trouble occurs again. Go to 8.
- CHECK USER RECOGNITION
.
Perform the user recognition again, with the user facing straight towards the center information display and towards the front of the driver's seat alternately.
Was the user recognition successful?
Yes : Driver Monitoring System is normal.
No : Go to 9.
- CHECK FOR WEARING ACCESSORY
.
Check if the user was wearing any accessories such as glasses and sunglasses.
Was the user wearing any accessories?
Yes : Ask the user to remove the accessories.
When the trouble occurs again. Go to 10.
No : Go to 11.
- USER RE-REGISTRATION
.
Register the user again with the user's eyes open wide.
Was the user registration successful?
Yes : Driver Monitoring System is normal.
No : Go to 11.
- RESISTER ANOTHER USERS
.
Check if some other users can be registered.
Was the user registration successful?
Yes : Driver Monitoring System is normal.
NOTE: Inform the user that the recognition may not work properly with the current driver monitoring system, and have the user decide whether or not to use.No : Replace the driver monitoring unit. Refer to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>DRIVER MONITORING UNIT .
