DTC B140A: Immobilizer Sub Control Module Non-Volatile Memory

Diagnosis start condition: 

DTC detecting condition: 

Defective central gateway Control Module

Trouble symptom: 

CAUTION: When the central gateway Control Module is replaced, registration of the immobilizer system is required. For details, refer to appropriate service information.
  1. REGISTRATION OF CENTRAL Gateway Control Module  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Body Control] and [Central Gateway]. Refer to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
      • Body Control
      • Central Gateway
    2. Perform the central gateway Control Module registration. Refer to appropriate service information.
    3. Read the DTC of [Body Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

      Is DTC B140A displayed? (Current malfunction)

      Yes  : Replace the central gateway Control Module. Refer to BODY CONTROL/COMMUNICATION SYSTEM>GATEWAY Control Module .

      No  : Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

      NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
