Interior Collation Does Not Function
Trouble causes:
- Access key battery malfunction
- Malfunction of keyless access Control Module power supply circuit
- Malfunction of harness between keyless access Control Module and each interior antenna
- Interior antenna malfunction
- When the access key or keyless access Control Module is replaced, registration of the immobilizer is required. For the relevant procedures, refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.
- Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
- CHECK ACCESS KEY

Check the battery of the access key. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>Access Key>INSPECTION .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 2.
No : Replace the battery.
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
.
- Disconnect the keyless access Control Module connector.
- Using a tester, measure the voltage between the keyless access Control Module connector and chassis ground.

Is the voltage 9.5 - 16 V?
Yes: Go to 3.
No : Check the power supply circuit.
- CHECK INTERIOR ANTENNA (FRONT)

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- Fr internal transmitter - internal tuner
- Using a tester, check the output between keyless access Control Module connector terminals while performing [Keyless Access with Push Button Start].

Is a pulse output?
Yes: Go to 4.
No : Replace the keyless access Control Module. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS Control Module .

- Rr internal transmitter - internal tuner
- Using a tester, check the output between keyless access Control Module connector terminals while performing [Keyless Access with Push Button Start].

Is a pulse output?
Yes: Go to 5.
No : Replace the keyless access Control Module. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS Control Module .

- CHECK INTERIOR ANTENNA (REAR)

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- Trunk-internal transmitter - trunk-internal tuner or
- R gate internal transmitter - internal tuner
- Using a tester, check the output between keyless access Control Module connector terminals while performing [Keyless Access with Push Button Start].

Is a pulse output?
Yes: Go to 6.
No : Replace the keyless access Control Module. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS Control Module .
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)

- Disconnect the front interior antenna connector and the keyless access Control Module connector.
- Using a tester, check continuity between the front interior antenna connector and the keyless access Control Module connector.

Is there continuity?
Yes: Go to 7.
No : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
- CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)

- Disconnect the center interior antenna connector and the keyless access Control Module connector.
- Using a tester, check continuity between the center interior antenna connector and the keyless access Control Module connector.

Is there continuity?
Yes: Go to 8.
No : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
- CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)

- Disconnect the rear interior antenna connector and the keyless access Control Module connector.
- Using a tester, check continuity between the rear interior antenna connector and the keyless access Control Module connector.

Is there continuity?
Yes: Go to 9.
No : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
- CHECK ANTENNA

Replace the front interior antenna with a new or properly functioning part.
Does it operate properly?
Yes: Replace the front interior antenna. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>Keyless Access Indoor Antenna>REMOVAL .
No : Go to 10.
- CHECK ANTENNA
.
Replace the center interior antenna with a new or properly functioning part.
Does it operate properly?
Yes: Replace the center interior antenna. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>Keyless Access Indoor Antenna>REMOVAL .
No : Go to 11.
- CHECK ANTENNA
.
Replace the rear interior antenna with a new or properly functioning part.
Does it operate properly?
Yes: Replace the rear interior antenna. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>Keyless Access Indoor Antenna>REMOVAL .
No : Go to 12.
- CHECK KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM CHECK

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- Fr internal transmitter - internal tuner
- Hold the access key 1 m or more away from the center console, then come closer to within 0.8 m.
Does the buzzer sound?
Yes: Go to 13.
No : Replace the keyless access Control Module. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS Control Module .
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- CHECK KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM CHECK

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- Rr internal transmitter - internal tuner
- Hold the access key 1 m or more away from the center of the second-row seats, then come closer to within 0.8 m.
Does the buzzer sound?
Yes: Go to 14.
No : Replace the keyless access Control Module. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS Control Module .
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- CHECK KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM CHECK

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Keyless Access with Push Button Start Check] of [Keyless Access with Push Button Start(Collation)]. Refer to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START CHECK .
- Trunk-internal transmitter - trunk-internal tuner
or
- R gate internal transmitter - internal tuner
- Trunk-internal transmitter - trunk-internal tuner
- Hold the access key 1 m or more away from the back of the rear seat, then come closer to within 0.8 m.
Does the buzzer sound?
Yes: The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.No : Replace the keyless access Control Module. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS Control Module .
