Engine Cooling System: Radiator: Removal
CAUTION:
- The engine coolant is pressurized when it is hot. Wait until engine coolant cools down before proceeding the work.
- If the engine coolant is spilt over the engine, exhaust pipe or the under cover, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke or causing a fire.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the collector cover. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the air intake duct. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE DUCT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the reservoir tank. Refer to COOLING (H4DO)>RESERVOIR TANK>REMOVAL .
- Drain engine coolant. Refer to COOLING (H4DO)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to EXHAUST (H4DO)>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect radiator outlet hose.
- Remove the bracket grille front.
- Remove the bracket hood stay.
- Disconnect the connector (A) from the main fan motor assembly and the connector (B) from the sub fan motor assembly.
- Disconnect the radiator inlet hose.
- Remove the radiator upper bracket.
- Remove the bolts at the lower side of the condenser assembly.
- Remove the bolts at the upper side of the condenser assembly.
- Secure the condenser assembly to the vehicle using ropes or other items.NOTE: This procedure is required to prevent the condenser assembly from dropping off and also damage to the air conditioner pipes.
- Lift the radiator up and away from vehicle.
- Remove the radiator lower cushion.
