DTC P0414 Secondary Air System Switching Valve "A" Circuit Shorted: Notes

DTC detecting condition:

Immediately at fault recognition

CAUTION: After servicing or replacing faulty parts, perform Clear Memory Mode. Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (STI)>CLEAR MEMORY MODE>OPERATION and inspection mode. Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (STI)>INSPECTION MODE>PROCEDURE .

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND SECONDARY AIR COMBINATION VALVE RELAY 1 CONNECTOR.
1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2. Disconnect the connector from ECM.
3. Remove the secondary air combination valve relay 1.
4. Measure the voltage between ECM connector and chassis ground.

  (B135) No. 8 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage 10 V or more?

Yes: Repair the short circuit to power in harness between ECM connector and secondary air combination valve relay 1 connector.

No: Repair the poor contact of ECM connector.
