Check Hood Switch

CHECK DATA MONITOR.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, display «Hood Switch».

NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Application help".

Does the display switch between OFF ←→ ON when the front hood is opened/closed?

Yes: The hood switch is OK.

No: Go to 2.
CHECK HARNESS.
1. Disconnect the connector of body integrated unit.
2. Disconnect the connector of hood switch.
3. Measure the resistance of harness between body integrated unit and hood switch.

  (B284) No. 14 - (F152) No. 2:
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

Yes: Go to 3.

No: Repair or replace the harness.
CHECK HOOD SWITCH.
Measure the resistance between hood switch terminals.

Terminals

No. 1 - No. 2:

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more when the hood is closed?

Yes: Replace the body integrated unit. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .

No: Replace the lock assembly - front hood. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>FRONT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY .
