Oil Pan
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Drain engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Drain the engine oil. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>ENGINE OIL>REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the center water pipe. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>WATER PIPE>REMOVAL>CENTER WATER PIPE .
- Remove the stabilizers. Ref. to FRONT SUSPENSION>STABILIZER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the bolts which hold the oil pan.
- Insert an oil pan seal cutter into the gap between oil pan and oil pan upper, and remove the oil pan.CAUTION:
- Do not use the tools other than the oil pan seal cutter, in order to prevent damaging the oil pan and oil pan upper.
- Do not twist with excessive force. The oil pan may be deformed.
NOTE: When removing, open the front side of the oil pan first, in order to avoid the interference with the oil strainer . - Remove the gasket from the oil pan.
- Remove the liquid gasket from the oil pan and the oil pan upper.
- When removing the oil strainer
- Remove the chain cover. Ref. to MECHANICAL (H4DO)>CHAIN COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the oil strainer.
