Inspection When Radiator Fans Do Not Stop

INSPECTION WHEN MAIN FAN AND SUB FAN DO NOT STOP
1. CHECK SUB FAN RELAY .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery.
    Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the sub fan relay.
    Refer to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>RADIATOR FAN RELAY>LOCATION .
  3. Perform unit check for the sub fan relay.
    Refer to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>RADIATOR FAN RELAY>INSPECTION .
  Is the sub fan relay OK?
  
  Yes:
  
  Go to 2.
  
  No:
  1. Replace the sub fan relay.
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
2. INSULATION CHECK OF HARNESS BETWEEN SUB FAN RELAY AND SUB FAN MOTOR .
  1. Connect the battery ground terminal.
    Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    
    NOTE: Sub fan relay is removed.
  2. Turn to IG ON.
  3. Check the radiator fan operation.
  Do the sub fan motor and the main fan motor rotate?
  
  Yes:
  1. Repair the harness between sub fan relay and sub fan motor.
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
  No:
  
  Go to 3.
3. CHECK INSULATION OF HARNESS BETWEEN SUB FAN RELAY - ECM AND A/C CONTROL MODULE .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery.
    Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
  3. Check the insulation of harness and chassis ground between sub fan relay - ECM and A/C CONTROL MODULE.
  Are they insulated?
  
  Yes:
  1. Replace the ECM.
    Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) .
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
  No:
  
  Go to 4.
4. CHECK INSULATION OF HARNESS BETWEEN SUB FAN RELAY - ECM AND A/C CONTROL MODULE .
  1. Disconnect the A/C CONTROL MODULEconnector.
  2. Check the insulation of harness and chassis ground between sub fan relay - ECM and A/C control module.
  Are they insulated?
  
  Yes:
  1. Replace the A/C Control Module.
    Refer to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>CONTROL UNIT .
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
  No:
  1. Repair the harness between sub fan relay - ECM and A/C control module.
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
INSPECTION WHEN ONLY MAIN FAN DOES NOT STOP
1. CHECK MAIN FAN RELAY 1 .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery.
    Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the main fan relay 1.
    Refer to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>RADIATOR FAN RELAY>LOCATION .
  3. Perform unit check for the main fan relay 1.
    Refer to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>RADIATOR FAN RELAY>INSPECTION .
  Is the main fan relay 1 OK?
  
  Yes:
  
  Go to 2.
  
  No:
  1. Replace the main fan relay 1.
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
2. INSULATION CHECK OF HARNESS BETWEEN MAIN FAN MOTOR AND SUB FAN MOTOR .
  1. Connect the battery ground terminal.
    Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    
    NOTE: Main fan relay 1 is removed.
  2. Turn to IG ON.
  3. Check the radiator fan operation.
  Does the main fan motor rotate?
  
  Yes:
  1. Repair the harness between the main fan motor and the sub fan motor.
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
  No:
  1. Replace the ECM.
    Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) .
  2. Restore the vehicle to its original state.
