Check With SUBARU Select Monitor
CAUTION:
Before performing the inspection, check the following settings.
- Wiper deicer setting โ "support". If "no support", set to "support" using customize setting.
- Rear defogger operation mode setting โ initial setting or customize setting.
- Check the input signal when the rear window defogger switch is operated using Subaru Select Monitor.
- Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- On [Start] screen, select [Diagnosis].
- On [Select Vehicle] screen, input the target vehicle information and select [Set].
- On [Main Menu] screen, select [Each System].
- On [Select System] screen, select [Body Control], and then select [Enter].
- On [Select Function] screen, select [Data monitor].
- From the data monitor item list, select [wiper deicer output].
- Check the displayed data (ON/OFF) by pressing and holding the rear window defogger switch for at least 3 seconds.
- Check the operation with rear window defogger switch pressed for at least 3 seconds.
- When customize setting is "Continuous", it is normal if the operation lasts for 15 minutes or more. However, if the vehicle speed is less than 15 km/h (9 MPH), the operation lasts for 15 minutes and then turns OFF.
- When customize setting is "Normal", it is normal if the operation lasts for 15 minutes and then turns OFF.
- When the operation in 2) above fails, replace the body integrated unit.
