Rear Quarter Glass: Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY>GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the trim panel - rear pillar UPR. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR QUARTER TRIM>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the glass - rear quarter in the same procedure as for the glass - front window. Refer to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>WINDSHIELD GLASS>REMOVAL .
    CAUTION:
    • When removing with a windshield glass knife, for the front portion, insert the windshield glass knife from the outside of the compartment, and for the other portions, insert from the inside of the compartment.
    • Hold the glass - rear quarter to prevent it from falling down.
    • If the glass is reused, be careful not to scrape the adhesive surface of the locating pin.
    • If the glass is reused, do not remove the molding - rear quarter lower. If removed, replace with a new glass.
  4. Remove the locating pin. (When reusing the glass)
    1. Attach tape to the locating pin outer surface to identify the installation position.

    2. Using a scraper, etc., remove locating pins (3 places).
    CAUTION:
    • Do not remove the tape because it is used as reference during installation.
    • Be careful not to damage the glass - rear quarter.
