Torque Converter Assembly: Installation

  1. Install a new O-ring to front reduction drive gear.
    CAUTION:
    • Before installing O-rings, apply sufficient amount of CVTF to avoid damage and deformation.
    • Use SUBARU genuine CVTF.
    • Be careful not to incorrectly install or fail to install O-rings and other such parts.
  2. While holding the torque converter assembly by hand, carefully install it into the torque converter case.
    CAUTION:
    • Before installing the torque converter assembly, apply CVTF to the oil seal lip.
    • Do not damage the oil seal and O-ring.
  3. Engage the splines while gently rotating the torque converter assembly by hand, and securely insert the assembly.
  4. Measure the dimension "A" from converter case end surface to drive plate mounting surface.

    Standard (reference): 

    6.8 mm (0.268 in) or less

  5. Install the transmission body. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>INSTALLATION .
