EGR Cooler: Installation

Connect the water hose (A).
Install the stud bolt.
Tightening torque:

6.4N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

Install the EGR control valve. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DOTC)>EGR CONTROL VALVE>INSTALLATION .
Set a new gasket to the EGR cooler.

Set new gasket to the stud bolt.

Set the EGR cooler together with the EGR control valve, and temporarily tighten the nuts and bolts.
Connect the water hose (A) and the water hose (B).

Tighten the nuts securing the EGR cooler in the order of (1) → (2) → (3).
Tightening torque:

9 N.m (0.9 kgf-m, 6.6 ft-lb)

Lower the vehicle.
Tighten the nuts securing the EGR control valve and the bolts securing the EGR cooler in the order of (1) → (2) → (3) → (4).
Tightening torque:

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Connect the connector to the EGR control valve.

Install the intercooler. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTERCOOLER>INSTALLATION .
Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
