Engine Side

  1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat.
    NOTE:

    Align the positions of the jiggle pin (a) and the positioning rib (b) of the gasket.

  2. Install the thermostat.
    NOTE:

    Align the positions of groove (a) of the oil pan upper and the positioning rib (b) of the gasket.

  3. Install the thermostat cover.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  4. Connect the radiator outlet hose.

  5. Install the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  7. Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
