DTC B2781: Steering Lock Control Module Control Circuit

DTC detecting condition:

When malfunction is detected in lock/unlock position detection sensor.
When the open or short circuit in the steering lock motor drive circuit is detected.

Trouble symptom:

The steering lock cannot be released.
Engine will not start.

CAUTION: For replacement procedure of steering lock CONTROL MODULE, refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume. Contact an Authorized Subaru Dealership.

NOTE: When all ECMs connected to collation system LIN bus cannot communicate with the keyless access CONTROL MODULE, DTC B2785 is output.

Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

Is DTC B2785 displayed?

Yes: Perform the diagnosis of DTC B2785. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>DTC B2785 LIN COMMUNICATION

No: Replace the steering lock CONTROL MODULE. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>Steering Lock CONTROL MODULE
