Exhaust System (H4DO): Muffler: Installation

  1. Install the cushion rubber and the rear exhaust cover to the vehicle body.

    Tightening torque: 

    10 N.m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.4 ft-lb)

  2. Install the muffler to the cushion rubber.
  3. Install the bolts and self-locking nuts securing the rear exhaust pipe to the muffler.
    NOTE:
    • Use a new gasket and self-locking nut.
    • After assembling, degrease the lubricant which was applied to the cushion rubber while removing/installing.

    Tightening torque: 

    48 N.m (4.9 kgf-m, 35.4 ft-lb)

  4. Attach the clip to the rear bumper. (Model with bumper diffuser)
    NOTE: Use a new clip.
  5. Install the bumper diffuser. (Model with bumper diffuser)
    CAUTION:
    • When attaching the clips to the bumper diffuser, pay attention to the mounting hole position.
    • Make sure that the bolts are seated securely.
    NOTE: Tighten the bolts while adjusting the clearance between bumper diffuser and rear bumper equally on both sides.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  6. Lower the vehicle.
