How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

NOTE:
  • Use these procedures to troubleshoot the seat belt warning system.
  • *: Use a SSM4.
  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

    Standard voltage: 11 to 14 V

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
    1. Use the SSM4 to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
    RESULT DESCRIPTION

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B

    B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

    A: Go to next step

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
    RESULT DESCRIPTION

    Result Proceed to
    Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
    Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

    B: Go to step  6

    A: Go to next step

  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING*
    1. Operation Check (see DATA MONITOR/ACTIVE TEST )
    2. Data monitor/active test (see DATA MONITOR/ACTIVE TEST )
    3. ECM terminal arrangement (see ECM TERMINAL ARRANGEMENT )
  6. REPAIR OR REPLACE
  7. CONFIRMATION TEST
