DTC C1423 Different Ecu Specifications

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

A fault is detected if the vehicle type information obtained from ECM via communication is different from the parameter setting information.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

ABS does not operate.
VDC does not operate.
Hill start assist does not operate. (Models without EyeSight)
Hill hold does not function. (Models with EyeSight)
EyeSight does not operate. (Models with EyeSight)

NOTE: When parameter selection for VDCCM is improper, this DTC may be memorized.

1 CHECK VDCCM & H/U IDENTIFICATION SYMBOL. Check the identification symbol attached on the H/U. <Ref. to SPECIFICATION , General Description.>	Is the identification symbol correct?	Go to step 2 .	Replace the VDCCM & H/U. <Ref. to VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM & H/U) .>
2 CHECK PARAMETER SELECTED IN VDCCM. <Ref. to VDCCM PARAMETER CHECK , MAINTENANCE MODE, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM & H/U).>	Does the parameter registered in the VDCCM match the relevant vehicle?	CVT model: Go to step 3 . MT model: Go to step 5 .	Select and register the correct parameter. <Ref. to VDCCM PARAMETER SELECTION , MAINTENANCE MODE, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM & H/U).>
3 CHECK TCM SPECIFICATION. Check the TCM specification.	Is the specification of TCM same as vehicle specification?	Go to step 4 .	Replace the TCM. <Ref. to Transmission Control Module (TCM) .>
4 CHECK CVT SYSTEM. Start the engine. Read the DTC of the CVT system. <Ref. to Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .>	Is DTC of CVT system displayed?	Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. <Ref. to List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .>	Go to step 5 .
5 CHECK ECM SPECIFICATION. Check the ECM specification.	Is the specification of ECM same as vehicle specification?	Go to step 6 .	Replace the ECM. <Ref. to Engine Control Module (ECM) .> <Ref. to Engine Control Module (ECM) .>
6 CHECK ENGINE SYSTEM. Start the engine. Read DTC of the engine system. <Ref. to Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .> <Ref. to Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .>	Is engine system DTC displayed?	Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. <Ref. to List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .> <Ref. to List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .>	Go to step 7 .
7 CHECK VDCCM & H/U. Connect all connectors. Perform the Clear Memory Mode. <Ref. to CLEAR MEMORY MODE .> Perform the Inspection Mode. <Ref. to INSPECTION MODE .> Read the DTC. <Ref. to READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .>	Is the same DTC displayed?	Replace the VDCCM & H/U. <Ref. to VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM & H/U) .>	Go to step 8 .
8 CHECK DETECTION OF OTHER DTCS FOR VDC. <Ref. to READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .>	Is any other DTC displayed?	Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. <Ref. to LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .>	Currently, it is normal. There may have been a temporary poor contact in the harness and connector or a temporary noise interference.
