Control Valve Body: Removal
CAUTION:
- Directly after the vehicle has been running or the engine has been idling for a long time, the CVTF is hot. Be careful not to burn yourself.
- Be careful not to spill CVTF on the exhaust pipe to prevent it from emitting smoke or causing a fire. If the CVTF adheres, wipe it off completely.
- Always clean the engine compartment before removal.
NOTE:
The control valve body is replaced as an assembly only, because it is a non-disassembly part.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>SAFETY .
- Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.
- Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.NOTE: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.
- Remove the transmission radio ground terminal.
- Disconnect the transmission harness connector.
- Remove the air breather hose together with the bracket.
- Remove the transmission radio ground cord.
- Remove the pitching stopper.
- Remove the pitching stopper bracket.
- Remove the transmission case cover (small).
- Remove the TCM. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>Transmission Control Module (TCM)>REMOVAL .
- Remove the transmission harness clip and ground terminal.
- Remove the throttle body, and move it aside so that it will not interfere with the removal of the control valve. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>Throttle Body>REMOVAL
.NOTE: Do not remove the preheater hose.
- Clean the transmission exterior.
- Fix the ST with tape, and set the ST to the vehicle.NOTE: When replacing the control valve body, the sheet is included in the control valve body for repairs.
Preparation tool:
ST: SHEET SPECIAL TOOL (18761AA010)
- Remove the valve cover and gasket.
- Remove the transmission harness from the valve cover.
- Remove the O-ring from the transmission harness.
- Disconnect the harness connector from the control valve body.
- Remove the control valve body.
- Remove the O-ring from the transmission.
