Steering Wheel: Inspection

Check the resistance of paddle switch.

Step	Check	Yes	No
1 SHIFT-UP SWITCH CONTINUITY CHECK. Operate the + side of paddle shift assembly and hold it. Measure the resistance between terminals of the paddle shift assembly connector. Terminals Gasoline engine model No. 1 - No. 3: HEV model No. 4 - No. 3:	Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?	Go to step 2 .	Replace the paddle shift assembly.
2 SHIFT-DOWN SWITCH CONTINUITY CHECK. Operate the - side of paddle shift assembly and hold it. Measure the resistance between terminals of the paddle shift assembly connector. Terminals No. 1 - No. 4:	Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?	Go to step 3 .	Replace the paddle shift assembly.
3 CHECK SHIFT SWITCH INSULATION. Do not operate the paddle shift assembly. Measure the resistance between terminals of the paddle shift assembly connector. Terminals Gasoline engine model No. 1 - No. 3: No. 1 - No. 4: HEV model No. 4 - No. 3: No. 1 - No. 4:	Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?	Paddle shift assembly is normal.	Replace the paddle shift assembly.

Replace the paddle switch if the inspection result is not within the standard value.
