- Release the fuel pressure. < Ref. to

- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. < Ref. to

NOTE:
For the 12 volt engine restart battery, disconnect the ground terminal from 12V engine restart battery sensor.
- Remove the collector cover.
- Carefully pull up the front of collector cover at two positions (A).
- Carefully pull up the rear of collector cover at two positions (B) while moving it backward.
NOTE:
Be careful not to contact the fuel delivery tube when moving the collector cover rearward.

- Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
NOTE:
This operation is required to release the inner pressure of the fuel tank.
- Remove the intake duct. (RH side only) < Ref. to

- Remove the intake manifold protector RH.

- Disconnect the connectors (A) from fuel injector.
- Disconnect the quick connector (B) of the fuel delivery pipe from the fuel pipe.
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Catch the fuel from the pipes using a container or cloth.
NOTE:
Disconnect the quick connector as shown in the figure.

- Remove the bolts which hold fuel pipe onto the cam carrier, and remove the fuel pipe together with the fuel injector.

- Remove the fuel injector from the fuel pipe.
- Remove the fuel injector holder from one side of flange section (A) of the fuel pipe.
- While holding one side of fuel injector holder (B) you removed in step ( 1) by finger, remove the other side of fuel injector holder from the flange section (C) of the fuel pipe.

- Remove the fuel injector holder from the fuel pipe and fuel injector, and remove the fuel injector from the fuel pipe.
- Remove the fuel injector on the LH side in the same manner.
