Ignition Key Lock: Replacement
CAUTION:
- Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". < Ref. to CAUTION , General Description. >
- When the wheel alignment has been adjusted, perform the following VDC setting mode.
- Model without EyeSight: VDC sensor midpoint setting mode < Ref. to VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE (MODELS WITHOUT EYESIGHT) , ADJUSTMENT, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U). >
- Model with EyeSight: Neutral of Steering Angle Sensor & Lateral G Sensor 0 point setting < Ref. to NEUTRAL OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR & LATERAL G SENSOR 0 POINT SETTING (MODEL WITH EYESIGHT) , ADJUSTMENT, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM& H/U). >
- Model with EyeSight: Longitudinal G sensor & lateral G sensor 0 point setting < Ref. to LONGITUDINAL G SENSOR & LATERAL G SENSOR 0 POINT SETTING MODE (MODEL WITH EYESIGHT) , ADJUSTMENT, VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U). >
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. < Ref. to
BATTERY
, NOTE, Note. >NOTE: For the 12 volt engine restart battery of HEV model, disconnect the ground terminal from 12V engine restart battery sensor.
- Remove the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Knee Airbag Module. >
- Remove the knee airbag module. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Knee Airbag Module. >
- Remove the column assembly - steering. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Steering Column. >
- Remove the ignition key lock.
- Secure the column assembly - steering in a vise.
- Use the reverse tap and drill to remove the set bolt and remove the ignition key lock.
CAUTION: Do not apply any impact to the set bolt by a chisel or punch. - Install the ignition key lock.
- Secure the ignition key lock to the column assembly - steering.
- Use new set bolts. Tighten the bolt until the bolt head is broken (bolt head wrenched off).
