Intake Manifold Assembly (Fa20): Removal

  1. Check Fuel Pump Operation And Inspect For Fuel Leak (See FUEL SYSTEM (FA20) )
  2. Disconnect Cable From Negative Battery Terminal (See WORKING PRECAUTIONS AND NOTES )
  3. Remove Air Cleaner Cap With Air Cleaner Hose (See REMOVAL )
  4. Remove Throttle With Motor Body Assembly
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and the throttle with motor body assembly.

  5. Disconnect Fuel Hose No. 1 (See INSTALLATION )
  6. Disconnect Fuel Hose No. 2 (See INSTALLATION )
  7. DISCONNECT PURGE HOSE (See INSTALLATION )
  8. Remove Injector Driver (See INJECTOR DRIVER (FA20) )
  9. Remove Intake Manifold Protector (for Bank 2) (See INSTALLATION )
  10. Remove Intake Manifold Protector (for Bank 1) (See INSTALLATION )
  11. Disconnect Fuel Delivery Pipe Sub-Assembly
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.
    2. Disconnect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose and move the fuel delivery pipe toward the front of the vehicle.

  12. Remove No. 1 Engine Cover Sub-Assembly
    1. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 engine cover subassembly.
      NOTE: Release the tabs from the front side of the vehicle.

  13. Disconnect No. 2 Vacuum Hose (for Manual Transmission) (See REMOVAL )
  14. Disconnect Ventilation Hose
    1. Disconnect the ventilation hose.

  15. Remove Intake Manifold
    1. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the purge control solenoid valve connector.

    3. Disengage the 5 clamps and disconnect the battery cable.

    4. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the engine wire harness.

    5. Disengage the 2 clamps and disconnect the 4 connectors.

    6. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

    7. Remove the 6 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.
