Unit Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Subaru BRZ. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Inspection of the headlight leveling switch
    1. Voltage ratio inspection
      1. Disconnect the connector of the headlight leveling switch.
      2. Measure the voltage between the vehicle wiring harness connector 8 (B) terminal and the 5 (E) terminal. (Voltage A)

      3. Connect the connector of the headlight leveling switch.
      4. Measure the voltage between connector terminals 7 (T) and 5 (E), and terminals 6 (T) and 5 (E) from back side of the connector when operating the headlight leveling switch. (Voltage B)

      5. Divide voltage B by voltage A to calculate the voltage ratio.
        Criteria

        Switch position Voltage ratio (%)
        0 84.8 to 89
        1 67.4 to 73.5
        2 51.4 to 57.7
        3 36.1 to 41.7
        4 21.2 to 26
        5 7.2 to 10.4
        NOTE: If voltage A is 12 V and voltage B is 10.5 V, then 10.5÷12 = 0.875, and the voltage ratio is 87.5 %.
    2. Inspection of LED light
      1. Check the illumination status of the LED for headlight leveling switch when the battery voltage is applied between terminals.
        Criteria

        Battery connection Criteria
        Battery positive →3
        Battery ground →2
        Night-time illumination turns on.
