Ignition Switch Illumination: Inspection

DIAGNOSTICS PROCEDURE

Step Check Yes No
1 CHECK IGNITION SWITCH ILLUMINATION  .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  2. Check the lighting condition of the ignition switch illumination.
Does the ignition switch illumination blink? Check the function setting of body integrated unit. <Ref. to GENERAL DIAGNOSTIC TABLE .> Go to step .
2 CHECK IGNITION SWITCH ILLUMINATION OPERATION  .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Open and close the driver's side door.
When door is opened/closed, does the ignition switch illumination switch between ON ↔ OFF? Ignition switch illumination is normal. Go to step .
3 CHECK CURRENT DATA  .
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, display the data of «Driver's door SW input».
NOTE: For detailed procedures, refer to "PC application help for Subaru Select Monitor".
Does the display change to OFF → ON, when the door is opened/closed? Go to step . Check the door switch circuit. <Ref. to CHECK DOOR SWITCH , INSPECTION, Keyless Entry System.>
4 CHECK CURRENT DATA  .
Display the data of «Key Illumination Light Output » using Subaru Select Monitor.
Does the display change to OFF → ON, when the door is opened/closed? CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT. <Ref. to CHECK IGNITION SWITCH ILLUMINATION , INSPECTION, Keyless Entry System.> Check the body integrated unit and replace it if defective. <Ref. to BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .>
