Inspection steps

  1. Check for other DTCs.
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Select the following menu items using the SSM3.: BRZ Check/All System Diagnosis
    4. Check DTCs for the system that have been output.

      Result

      Result Go to
      No DTCs are output. A
      DTCs are output. B

      B: Go to list of diagnostic codes (Refer to DTC TABLE )

      A: Go to next step

  2. Checking current data
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn on the SSM3.
    4. Read the value of [Ambient Air Temperature] using the SSM3.
    5. Read the change in the [Ambient Air Temperature] value, while applying hot air and cold air to the ambient temperature sensor with a hair dryer.

      Result

      Result Go to
      The [Ambient Air Temperature] value changes when it is heated and cooled. A
      The [Ambient Air Temperature] value does not change when it is heated and cooled. B

      B: Change the ambient temperature sensor.

      A: Repair a poor contact of ECM connectors.
