How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine Immobilizer system.
- *: Use the SSM3.
- VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
NEXT
- INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage: 11 to 14V
If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
NOTE: A simple method to determine whether the battery is depleted is to operate the horn.NEXT
- TURN ENGINE SWITCH ON (IG)

- CHECK FOR DTC (ENTRY AND START SYSTEM)*
- Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output.
- Clear the DTCs. (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR )
- Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to duplicate the engine Immobilizer system DTC or steering lock system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTCs.
Result
RESULT REFERENCEResult Proceed to DTC is not output A Steering lock system DTC is output (DTC B2781, B2782 or B2788) B Engine Immobilizer system DTC is output (except DTC B2781, B2782 and B2788) C B: Go to "steering lock system (List of diagnostic codes)" (Refer to LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC CODES )
