Engine Cooling System: Radiator: Removal
CAUTION:
The radiator is pressurized when the engine and radiator are hot. Wait until engine and radiator cool down before working on the radiator.
- Remove the collector cover.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the under cover. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Under Cover. >
- Drain engine coolant completely. < Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant. >
- Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from radiator lower.
- Remove the bolts on the underside of the radiator stay.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the air intake duct. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Intake Duct. >
- Remove the front upper cover.
- Remove the radiator upper brackets.
- Remove the radiator stay.
- Remove the latch.
- Remove the radiator inlet hose LH from the clip.
- Remove the front hood cable fixing clip from the radiator stay.
- Remove the bolts on the left side of the radiator stay.
- Remove the bolts on the right side of the radiator stay.
- Disconnect the connector from radiator fan control unit.
- Remove the reservoir tank.
- Disconnect the radiator inlet hoses LH and RH from the radiator.
- Disconnect the ATF radiator inlet hose and ATF radiator outlet hose from the radiator.NOTE: Plug the ATF pipe to prevent ATF leaks.
- Remove the front bumper. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Bumper. >
- Remove the bolts which hold the radiator and condenser.
- Remove the clip holding the ambient sensor harness.
- Lift the radiator up and away from vehicle.
- Remove the radiator lower cushion.
