Operation Check
- Inspection of the driver's seat belt warning light
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Check that the front seat belt warning light in the combination meter assembly blinks when the driver's seat belt is not fastened.
- Inspection of the passenger's seat belt warning light
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Check that the passenger's seat belt warning light in the tell taillight assembly blinks when the passenger's seat belt is not fastened with the passenger's seat occupied.
- With the passenger's seat occupied, insert the seat belt tongue plate in the buckle, and check that the front seat belt warning light in the tell taillight assembly goes off.
- Inspection of the seat belt warning buzzerNOTE: If the buzzer does not sound, the buzzer cancel setting may be turned on. (Refer to OPERATION CHECK )
- Lift up the vehicle by using the swing arm lift. (Refer to WORKING PRECAUTIONS AND NOTES )
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Occupy the driver's seat and the passenger's seat, and unfasten the seat belts of the both seats.CAUTION: Be careful not to touch the seat backrest while sitting on the seat.
- With the driver's or passenger's seat belt tongue plate not inserted in the buckle, drive the vehicle at approx. 20 km/h or above. In this condition, check that the buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds at 1.2 second intervals for 30 seconds, and then sounds at 0.4 second intervals for 90 seconds.
- Check that the buzzer stops sounding 2 minutes after it first started to sound.
- After the buzzer stops sounding, turn the ignition switch to OFF, and then start the engine again. Drive the vehicle at approx. 20 km/h or above with the driver's or passenger's seat belt tongue plate not inserted in the buckle, and check that the buzzer sounds again.
- After the buzzer stops sounding, insert the driver's and passenger's seat belt tongue plates in the buckles. Drive the vehicle at approx. 20 km/h or above, unfasten the driver's or passenger's seat belt, and check that the buzzer sounds again.
- After the buzzer stops sounding, change the shift position to R, and then to D. With the seat belt tongue plate not inserted in the buckle, drive the vehicle at approx. 20 km/h or above, and check that the buzzer sounds again.
