Inspection steps

NOTE:
  • When malfunction is detected in the engine control computer, P2610 is stored. Performing the diagnostic procedure is not required. The ECM needs replacement.
  • Read the freeze frame data using the SSM3. A part of the engine running conditions under which the engine trouble occurred is recorded in the freeze frame data, which is useful for troubleshooting.
  1. Replacement of the ECM
    1. Replace the ECM. (Refer to CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (FA20) )

  2. DTC recheck
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn on the SSM3.
    4. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to clear the DTCs. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )
    5. Turn the ignition switch to OFF, and wait for 30 seconds.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    7. Start the engine, and wait for 10 minutes or more.
    8. Turn the ignition switch to OFF, and wait for 10 hours.
    9. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    10. Turn on the SSM3.
    11. Start the engine.
    12. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to check the DTC. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )
    13. If there are no pending DTCs, repair has been successfully completed.
