SERVICE INFORMATION

If you encounter a 2013 Outback equipped with Keyless Access System and Remote Engine Starter installed where the horn sounds 3 times when the brake is depressed, make sure the RES SES Diagnostic connector is disconnected.

Per the installation instructions page 17 step 10, the single pole SES diagnostic connector must be disconnected and left disconnected once installation and registration of the RES system is completed. If the connector is found to be connected, disconnect the connector, secure the connectors to the harness with electrical tape and check for proper operation of the system.
