Procedure
- Module installation check
- Put "-" mark in the box under the installation check column if the vehicle to be inspected does not have the relevant module.
- Put "-" marks in all blank boxes in the same row that the "-" mark has been placed.
NOTE: Refer to the sample list. - SSM communication initialization check
- Put "0" mark in the box under the communication initialization column if the module succeeded in the communication initialization with Select Monitor. If the communication with all of the modules subject to CAN diagnostic fails, go to (c).
- Put "0" marks in all blank boxes in the same row that the "0" mark has been placed.
- If a wiring location column has one or more boxes with "0" mark, the wiring for that location is normal. Put "0" mark in the box directly under the column with circled number. Put " " marks in the blank boxes under the column.
- Perform open circuit check for the wiring locations without "0" mark in ascending order. (only for installed modules)
- If the communication remains disabled after checking all harnesses, inspect the module power supply line.
- If the power supply line is normal, perform the basic diagnosis procedure for the corresponding system.
- If the communication remains disabled after implementing the basic diagnostic program, replace the unit.NOTE:
- Refer to the sample list.
- For the wiring locations marked with "-", they cannot be inspected using the communication for initialization via Select Monitor. Identify the faulty part by using example of missing DTC detection.
- SSM communication initialization check (impossible to communicate with any module)NOTE: Perform inspection procedure for the trouble mode indicating that all CAN modules do not communicate. If the communication with any of the modules has been recovered, go to "2. SSM communication initialization check".
- Check for the short circuit to ground. (Refer to
CHECK FOR SHORT TO GROUND )
If it is normal, go to the next.
- Check for the short circuit to battery. (Refer to
CHECK FOR SHORT TO BATTERY )
If it is normal, go to the next.
- Perform the inspection procedure for the resistance of Less than 57 Ω (line-to-line short). (Refer to
LESS THAN 57 Ω )
If it is normal, go to the next.
- Check for the open circuit of network diagram No. 7 (data link connector).
