Steering Wheel: Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Set the tire to the straight-ahead position.
  3. Remove the airbag module. Refer to DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE REMOVAL, Driver's Airbag Module.
    WARNING: Always refer to "Airbag System" before performing service on the airbag modules. Refer to GENERAL DESCRIPTION CAUTION, General Description.
  4. Place alignment marks on the steering wheel and steering shaft.

  5. Remove the steering wheel nut, and then draw out the steering wheel from shaft using steering puller.
