Oil Seal: Replacement
- Remove the collector cover. (turbo model)
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the front under cover. Refer to FRONT UNDER COVER .
- Clean the transmission exterior.
- Using the TORX® bit T70, remove the drain plug, and drain the transmission gear oil completely.
- Using the TORX® bit T70, tighten the transmission gear oil drain plug.NOTE: Use a new gasket.
Tightening torque:
44 N.m (4.5 kgf-m, 32.5 ft-lb) (Aluminum gasket silver)
70 N.m (7.1 kgf-m, 51.6 ft-lb) (Copper gasket brown)
70 N.m (7.1 kgf-m, 51.6 ft-lb) (Metal gasket black)
- Remove the center exhaust pipe. (non-turbo model) Refer to CENTER EXHAUST PIPE .
- Remove the center exhaust pipe. (turbo model) Refer to CENTER EXHAUST PIPE .
- Remove the heat shield cover.
- Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT .
- Using the ST, remove the oil seal.
ST 398527700 PULLER ASSY
- Using the ST, install the oil seal.
ST 498057300 INSTALLER
- Apply transmission gear oil to the oil seal lips.
- Install the propeller shaft. Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT .
- Install the heat shield cover. Refer to HEAT SHIELD COVER .
- Install the center exhaust pipe. (non-turbo model) Refer to CENTER EXHAUST PIPE .
- Install the center exhaust pipe. (turbo model) Refer to CENTER EXHAUST PIPE .
- Install the front under cover. Refer to FRONT UNDER COVER .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Pour in transmission gear oil and check the oil level. Refer to Transmission Gear Oil .
- Install the collector cover. (turbo model)
