Extension Case Oil Seal: Replacement

- Lift up the vehicle.
- Clean the transmission exterior.
- Remove the ATF drain plug to drain ATF.CAUTION: Immediately after the vehicle has been running or after idling for a long time, the ATF will be hot. Be careful not to burn yourself.
- Tighten the ATF drain plug.NOTE: Use a new gasket.
Tightening torque:
20 N.m (2.0 kgf-m, 14.8 ft-lb)
- Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Refer to REMOVAL . Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the heat shield cover.
- Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to REMOVAL , Propeller Shaft.
- Using the ST, remove the oil seal.
ST 398527700 PULLER ASSY
- Using the ST, install the oil seal.
ST 498057300 INSTALLER
- Install the propeller shaft. Refer to INSTALLATION , Propeller Shaft.
- Install the heat shield cover.
- Install the front exhaust pipe. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Refer to INSTALLATION . Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Pour ATF from the oil charge pipe. Refer to REPLACEMENT , Automatic Transmission Fluid.
- Check the level and leaks of ATF. Refer to INSPECTION , Automatic Transmission Fluid.
